We are looking for a new name for the new variety “Koshihikari Niigata University NU No. 1” developed by Niigata University.
Niigata Prefecture is famous nationwide for its delicious Koshihikari rice.
However, due to the effects of global warming in recent years, summer temperatures have become abnormally high, making it difficult for Koshihikari to grow normally.
Therefore, after about 20 years, Professor Mitsui of Niigata University’s Faculty of Agriculture developed “Koshihikari Niigata University NU No. 1”.
NU No. 1 grows strong even in severe heat, and the rice grains are white and beautiful, and above all, it is delicious. This is such a new Koshihikari.
