Quickly pour in water from a water purifier or mineral water, stir for about 10 seconds, and quickly discard the water. Then quickly pour water (tap water is acceptable in Japan) into the bowl again, stir for about 10 seconds, and quickly discard the water.
The rice will absorb the water in the first 10 seconds, so use good water for the first wash.
3 Grind about 20 times
Spread out your fingers, insert your hand, and sharpen the new rice about 20 times, making a shuffling sound as you grind the surface.
4 Rinse twice
Quickly pour in new water, stir 2-3 times, dilute the sharpening water, and repeat the process twice before pouring it out.
If it is slightly cloudy, it is finished.
